Little Lady

Image
Still in her pj's, she's on the go. Two purses--one with her cell phone--pushing baby in a stroller. At the pace she's moving, one would think she's pretending to walk the streets of New York.

Festivities

Sleep is so overrated. Hence the early morning blog post. Last night we threw Brian & Raina Shey a surprise wedding shower. They thought they were coming to a Christmas party only to walk past a family member's car on the way in...oh well, it was still a success. Thanksgiving Week

Image
Pops and Nana rolled in last Saturday and we are all having a blast. Sable has since reverted to two naps a day from having two playmates and even Nana has snuck in some daytime shut-eye. When not entertaining Sable, Pops spends quality father-son time golfing and fishing with Philip. I'm enjoying the fact that I can eat lunch before it gets cold, take a real nap, and shower with no faces peeking at me. As for Ruby, she is one big smile.A cold front came through so it's cool enough at night for a jacket while the days are nice and mild. This weather didn't stop Janel & her friend Bree from swimming (they came down from Buffalo, NY where it was 9 degrees). Florida Fall Fashion= Flip Flops

Image
Two major differences between Fall in NY vs. FL: temperatures and colors. While I miss wearing boots and denim jackets, it's much easier dressing babies in one layer only (even sleeveless & sockless some days!) And the fall foliage is virtually nonexistent in sunny, green Gainesville. Sockless & strappy-topped Sable holding lil sis Ruby Sleeveless with the AC cranked Naptime: No blankets, instead leg warmers Snow cones at JAM FAM carnival Still wearing her fave shoes: hot pink Crocs (any ideas how to get her to try new shoes?)

NYC from Ruby's Point-of-View

When awake, Ruby's sight-seeing was pretty-much limited to whatever was up. Ruby in Yankee Town

Image
Ruby didn't lack the "hands-on" attention she's used to receiving from big sis Sable; in fact, she got an overdose of love in the big city. Stella and Julia, Sable's Big Apple BFFs Amy acting as the hug monitor And I gave her some luvin' in between

Ruby Simone loved it, all of it, everything the city had to offer when she wasn't sleeping away the day. Who wouldn't love all the attention from friends and strangers alike? Comparison Pics

Image
When looking at Sable's and Ruby's two-week-old photos, they look very similar. Babies faces change so quickly. Only one month later, their six-week photos show a resemblance but not the uncanny one seen in the two-week photos. One month stats comparison: Sable 90% height, 40% weight; Ruby 50% height, 75% weight Dressed Up Ruby (above) & Sable (below) @ 6 weeks Bathing Beauties Sable @ 2.5 months Ruby @ 1.5 months

Stella Spends the Night

Image
We had the pleasure hosting Alice, Kristin and Stella for a fun sleepover. Sable loved reuniting with her longest-running friendship, Stella DeGeus. So much has changed since they were introduced to each other in April 2007! Two are Better Than One

Image
In so many ways we've enjoyed having two children. This past month our hearts enlarged to twice the amount of love, our laughter more than doubled and life twice as nice. Also growing two-fold: laundry, diapers, bath times...Ecclesiastes 4:9 "Two are better than one"
