A Visit with Pops and Nana

The pictures say it all.

Progression Pic -- 17 weeks

Image
Things are progressing, that's for sure. I started feeling Little Sunshine move one week ago. This week Philip went with me to see the ultrasound which was a remarkable experience as it always is. As for the baby, he or she is doing well (we're not finding out the gender until he/she is born), and the heartbeat beats just as Sable's did at 152 bpm. Looking forward to the next ultrasound in four weeks where they give us a dvd (but darn it, no 4-D pics like they do in NYC). As for this pregnancy, it seems to mirror my first one: I feel great, have lots of energy, and my waistbands are getting tight in the same week as last time. I've been doing more running than last pregnancy which I'm thoroughly enjoying despite my increasingly slower pace. A welcomed difference between the two pregnancies is that I didn't experience any chest growth until this week. The first four months I was wearing fun workout tops to teach classes and work out, but I have a feeling I may so...

Barefoot Baby

What does Sable say are the best parts of Florida? No more snow suit! No more mittens! Sleeveless onesies! And no more shoes!!! (That is, I take my shoes off at every opportunity when Mommy isn't looking.) But I sure miss my friend Stella.

Here's a pic of Sable double-fisted with her first birthday cake. We have video of it somewhere...

This Ain't Solomon...

I sure miss playing with Solomon, Stella's big bro, but Maggie often walks by my front door. Here's a pic of us in conversation.

Now that I'm one year old, I walk to the pantry, open the door and pull down my favorite snack. I can't climb into my high chair so I make myself comfy on the floor and enjoy a handful of Wheat Thins.

ONE YEAR OLD

Sable turned one on Monday. Aunt Ginger and cousin Juliana came to visit. I could hardly wait to feed Sable her own personal bday cake so that morning, Philip and I sang to her and let her eat cake before breakfast. It was really cute; she didn't quite know what to do with a whole cake so she just stuck her hands in it and took big, messy bites. Philip bbq'd with our new grill (courtesy of our friends from NYC), then we celebrated with Blue Bell ice cream (which we sorely missed living up north) and cake. Sable is known for her intercontinental taste buds, and she had no trouble adding Southern BBQ to her palate. She ate such a big dinner that she slept through breakfast the next morning....we're tempted to feed her bbq & cake every night! Oh yeah, Sable says thanks to her fans for the birthday phone calls and emails! She really misses everyone. In the Land of Perpetual Heat and Humidity...

Image
we have finally arrived. We love our home and our neighborhood. Surprisingly, it is very similar to our NYC 'hood except 100x cleaner and much more beautifully landscaped. Sable has been rather spoiled at the playground where the older kids take care of the younger and the family-friendly dogs beg for attention from little hands. From the moment we arrived, Sable's hair flipped up. Looks like the humidity has taken hold of it. Playing in Daddy & Mommy's room Look who I caught climbing the stairs!
