Tioga Art Show

The girls were accepted to show their art (for sale and on-site demonstration) on Saturday, March 4th at the Tioga Art Show.  Professional and amateur artists spend three days showing art. Our girls, along with neighbor Ella Pridgen, prepared for six weeks.  Sable, no longer in competitive gymnastics with Ruby, spent many weekday afternoons sewing and creating masterpieces. Ruby, on the otherhand, spent her Saturdays and had much less to show.  No worries for her as she decided to sell waters to make up the difference.  Big Sister Sable finished many of her pieces and graciously let Ruby keep the full proceeds.   Since I am not super artistic in the crafty sense, and since Miss Courtney (our nanny/babysitter) is quite natural at it, she guided the girls in their artful preparations.   The Alachua County Public Schools recognized both girls with award and ribbons.  One of the school board members stopped by and purchased one of Sable's pot hold...

From Birthday to Birthday February 22nd - March 10th

Joel and Sterling setting up their military camp the day before recycling goes out.  The conveniently pulled boxes and empty milk cartons out of neighbors' bins to use as props and fort building. Joel began the sport of Olympic fencing.  The homeschool class provides one on one coaching, which is remarkable considering the afternoon classes are packed...and no suiting up in those classes. To say he loves it is an undestatement! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! and Joel's favorite pj's of James' wardrobe General George Washington in a fort on the right, and a jail for the British on the left Roman Centurion Pantry fun for the baby Family photo during Joel's 6th birthday party Joel invited whole families to his party.  He hand-picked the families with many sons (some had 5, others had 2-3).  The invitation read, "Come celebrate Joel's 6th Birthday.  Bring your Nerf Guns." Sable being silly with Joel...
