Overheard before Breakfast

Joel to James: Hey buddy, I’m gonna read you a story from the Bible. James: Ughhh, I don’t want that book, I want to read my fishing book. Joel: Don't worry buddy, there’s a fish story in the Bible.

College Reunion with Our Kids

Image
It’s been 7 years since we met with our children. What a blast and busy time we had. 12 of the 13 kids came and the ages ranged from 3 to 12 years.

Ruby’s Discipline —- example #71

Image
Ruby starts practice at 8am but she likes to be there so early that after I drop her off, I get home 15 min before practice begins!

Ruby lost 4 teeth

Image
Sweet Ruby Simone had 4 teeth pulled per orthodontist’s instruction. Our friend, an oral maxillofacial doc, put Ruby (and me!) at ease knowing he takes care of our kids like his own. While she won’t take a pic just yet, I do think she’s going to hit up her Daddy tooth fairy for some big bucks.

Camp Longboat

Image
We enjoyed Longboat Key for the 4th with some amazing families. Four boats, six families, 15 children and a whole lotta sunshine!

Swimmers: 4 for 4

Image
All three big kids were swimming before 2.5 years old, Ruby being the youngest at 23 months (most likely to keep up with big sis). James has taken his time and could not be pushed as he was very cautious around water. Yesterday, Mr. Calculated and Cautious asked if he could have his swimmies removed so he could swim. And swim he did! He even took big breaths and is by far, our strongest new swimmer.  While the other 3 looked near drowning in their first few times of swimming unassisted, James looked strong and in control. Now he doesn’t want to leave the pool so we are heading out for another SEVEN or so hours of water.
