39 week update

For those who have been calling, no I'm not in labor and yes I'm STILL pregnant. And to answer your questions: Haven't been working out, even swimming is too much these days. The baby dropped Wed. night. I actually felt it, it was weird b/c I didn't experience the feeling w/ Sable and from what I've read, the baby doesn't usually drop until one goes into labor on subsequent pregnancies. I couldn't move when it happened and then for a few minutes all I felt was a chin or an arm or both rubbing my bladder so I peed all night long and fell asleep just in time to catch some z's before Sable woke up with her fully replenished energy levels. Things were pretty much the same; i.e., this pregnancy mirrored the first, until recently. The differences (and really, the biggest differences are SUMMER VS. WINTER, NYC VS. FLORIDA, CORPORATE AMERICA FULL-TIME VS. STAY-AT-HOME/WORK FROM HOME). Other than those three dramatic differences, here goes: 1. No numb right ...

Addicted to Me

Image
If you ask Sable what her name is, she will proudly point to her chest and proclaim, "ME!" These days we cannot get enough of our own Sable. Some nights I sneak into her room just to pick her up and hold her while she sleeps...and then give her gentle kisses all over her precious little face.

Sable's Social Life

Image
Living outside of NYC and in a neighborhood with lots of families proves to be a really fun experience. Sable has a growing list of friends and a social calendar to prove it. I don't remember my mom scheduling "play dates" back in the day but that's the norm these days. A few pics from around the "town' of Tioga-- Sable with her buddies Avery and Spencer (Yes, that's Daddy pulling the wagon in his Lily Pulitzer swimsuit, lol!) Maternity Photos

One of the ladies in my Bosu class is an infant and maternity photographer. After class one day she gave me a good deal on a two-for-one session; that is, maternity portraits and newborn portraits. So here's a link to the first session. I think it may be up for a limited time. Looking forward to the second session showcasing our itsy bitsy person...with Sable if she will sit still long enough. Knowing her affection for babies these days, she will affectionately be smothering her sibling with open-mouthed kisses at every waking moment of every day. http://www.shelideratophoto.com/Proofs/ginafamily/

Butterfly Exhibit

Image
A few weeks ago we went on a field trip to the Museum of Natural History which conveniently sits on the campus of UF. The butterfly exhibit was beautiful but proved tough to enjoy while trying to contain a 16-month-old erupting with pure energy. Rachel and Mia

Reunion Weekend

Image
Three of my college friends and I get together annually to reunite. This year included three babies and two pregnellas--me, "35-week veteran"and lo and behold Kristen, "fledgling mom at 4-weeks" or so. After a fun night of wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres, Kristen woke up later than the rest of us and joined us downstairs for breakfast. She brought a little something with her...an all too familiar stick. Two red lines proved her pregnant! What a fun, unforgettable moment we shared--the four of us giddy with glee, excited and joyfully surprised all in the same minute. Needless to say we opted for decaf coffee talk later that afternoon and sipped ice water during late night talks leaving recently purchased bottles of wine unopened. Congratulations Tony and Kristen!

Sable's Whereabouts

Image
These days Sable calls (some of) her friends by name, such as Aiden. When choosing a baby name, it didn't cross our minds that 'Sable' was a more challenging name to pronounce than Mia, Aiden, and Dion. Ahh, the things we're learning as parents. The kid even says Cheerios perfectly but Sable is a proper noun she has yet to attempt.
