When one’s habitat includes multiple homes on the tiniest lots around a cul-de-sac, quarantining gets tricky. We made a pack of sorts to separate from others by staying in the cul de sac. Every day, about one mom gets groceries for whomever needs them (unless it’s commodities, then the husbands pick up the maximum rationed allowance which seems to be a quantity of 2 per item). The mamas planned multiple activities from daily breakfast at Candan’s, Bible class to art, the sport of wrestling to dodge ball, science experiment, water safety practice to a day at the lake, and even an Irish cooking class for St. Patrick’s Day. Of course, there was ample amounts of reading, movies and playtime. 16 kids is a lot to handle at once so some of us watched the U-9s while others led instructional classes for the 9-14 year olds.
